Have you started mixed martial arts training but feel like you aren’t getting the results you want? Are you being tired of being kicked up in sparring matches and struggle to make it through every round? Try out my 5 simple options to enhance your mixed martial arts training and you will see results fast.
1. Vary your approach -Don’t do it too often but make sure to change the exercises you do within workouts and when those workouts occur every 4 to 6 weeks. The body is a great machine that adapts to cases so repeating the same workout too much will cause your betterment to slow down, plateau and even decrease. So combine it!
2. Perticipate in sparring matches quite often and learn from it -Your mixed martial arts training which you may learn by martial arts video training will likely involve a plenty of sparring during your classes already but yet you may do more. Meet up with 2 other like minded persons, find one man to referee while the other two spar. It’s unlikely you have a cage at home but be sure you have a safe surface to spar on, concrete isn’t an appropriate thought! Review your sparring matches and look at what is well and more importantly where you go wrong. Employ this knowledge to develop your skills.
3. Arrange your workouts right – performing the necessary efforts at the right time is important to maximise effectively. The order in which things must be performed in a workout is as follows:
warm up (containing dynamic stretches), Technical drills, Speed drills, Strength Drills, Endurance and finally a cool down with isometric stretches.
You should just have each element in a workout 2 to 3 times a week checking you have at least 48 hours in between. Be sure you rest appropriately to avoid over training. Have at least one day a week where you do not train with the help of martial art training videos or you do certain gentle exercise for instance walking.
4. Look at other forms for inspiration -You don’t need to go to classes in other forms to have inspiration. Look at articles on the Internet, mixed martial arts training videos and magazines to see if there are any moves you may take into your coach to see if they are familiar with it and see if it’s useful.
5. Check you eat right – This is very vital, if your body isn’t getting the fuel it requires you won’t be at your peak. A lot of complex carbohydrates, lean protein, fruit and vegetables and several kinds of fats are needed to keep your body healthy and topped up with the stuff it needs. A great sign of a healthy meal is how colourful a plate is. Remember you should eat lean to be mean.
