Want to learn kung fu but can’t find time for formal lessons? If you agree that a little something is better than nothing, why not try to learn kung fu online
Some may think otherwise but, if you can learn a trick or two from books and videos, you can learn from online sources. You may not learn everything there is to learn about a particular kung fu system or style but you can definitely pick up some information that will get you somewhere.
You see, experienced martial artists can learn new tricks just by observing. Well, of course, it’s because they have the background to notice and understand what they see. But then there are simple movements in kung fu that even a novice will be able to copy. Many of these may be found through the Internet. And, as you become more knowledgeable, you develop a more observant eye.
If you are to learn kung fu online, you will have to determine first what to look for according to your needs. For instance, if you’re after the combative or self-defense aspect, you should know what skills make kung fu so formidable and see if it’s possible to get the how-to from the Net. So, you will first have to scout for dominant claims. In my opinion, the kung fu iron palm is one such claim.
You can train for the iron palm through solo-training. You don’t need a human partner to hone it. Once you get the proper procedure and are ready with the necessary tools, you can train alone. But be cautious with actually using your new-found skill. It is a killer of an art, one that gives the sinister meaning to many flashy kung fu moves.
Kung fu moves, like how to apply the iron palm in combat, can be found online as well. All you need to do is search. Then find a cooperative partner to practice with and train in the moves through constant drills. Some really meaty information is out there. Again, you may not learn everything but this is better than nothing.
Kung fu is not all about combat. Much of it has to do with developing fitness often in an energetic way (internal). One example is tai-chi. If you can learn and practice just the motions regularly, many degenerative diseases can be kept at bay. These are moves you can do on your own. Well, once you learn them. Even if you are not so accurate with the motions, there are still health benefits to be derived.
So, want to study kung fu online?
Whether it’s for combat, fitness or just plain curiousity. you can find the relevant kung fu information by using search engines like Google. Just use the words that best describe your subject as search terms. Consider the use of specific terms like “kung fu iron palm training” or “kung fu iron body training”.
You will find a lot of related products for sale, but you can also find freebies. I’ll give you some hints. There’s YouTube. There’s ExpertVillage. You search a topic and you will get a lot of possible answers. You can also look for websites or groups that offer free kung fu lessons, like Kung Fu Give Away at FaceBook.
If there’s a will, there’s a way. Find some time to do your searches and practice. Many solo training routines can be done at home with the most modest of equipments. An old military duffel bag (seabag), for instance, can serve as your punching bag. Even an old telephone directory can be the target in iron palm training. In many cases, your own body and gravity complete the requisites of an exercise.
There are various routines you can do on your own. If you can enlist a willing partner, so much the better. Two minds are better than one. For mutual benefit, you can experiment with moves while exchanging roles as attacker or defender. Many may not agree but, by actually trying, it should be the practitioners who can tell whether or not one can learn kung fu online.

Now, the problem is that this concept of reaction time has infested all arts, and basically corrupted those arts from the get go. One of the reasons is that the martial arts have been designed to teach children, and children dont have enough control over their bodies to deal with reaction time except in the most victim manner. Thus, you have to avoid classes taught for, or evolved for, children.
Another problem is that the mixed martial arts phenomena that is currently the wow in society has driven people to training methods that utilize nothing but muscle and brawn. How strong are you, how fast are you, and not how can you harmonize with your opponent. Again, the method creates victims of time, moving after somebody else has moved, and it does not create people who move in The Now.
For example, watch one of the latest UFC bashes, the fighters miss as much as they connect, yet the time involved should be faster than somebody can move their heads. The reason this is happening is because people are moving in response to action, and not in concert with it. Or, and this is really worse, they are moving without having any real idea of where they are moving, striking out blindly and hoping to win the lottery.
On the other end of the scale are the artists who dont miss their strikes, who are aware in the middle of combat, and come out of the battle unmarked and yet with a knock out to their credit. Watch the last fight with Anderson Silva Silva, the one in which he bashes Forrest Griffin. Anderson seems lazy, dancing unconcerned at the end of Forrests punches, and yet he is never touched, and instead loops a lazy, little punch in that knocks Forrest into the middle of next week.
But Forrest was already out of the fight! Forrest, you see was trying to hit a Anderson without knowing where the man was, which is obvious if you analyze the trajectory of his punches. Forrest was caught by reaction time, he was not able to predict in any fashion where Andersons head would be.
So here is the question that I have been working around, if a person is in reaction time, punching after the action and not in concert with the action, where is he? It doesnt matter where he is, what matters is that he is not free of the trap of reaction time. He is not in charge of his life, he is living some other time, he is living in the past, he is not living in the right here and now.
Well, it is obvious that the world is crazy, and we all knew that, but we can make it not so crazy by undoing this silly thing called reaction time. Simply, you must seek out training drills where you move with somebody, and because he moved. Whether you study Kenpo or Krav Maga or Choy Lee Fut or whatever, you must research what reaction time is, and remove it, through intensive training, from your existence.
